With time rapidly ticking down on this seasons Premier Intermediate league the realisation that sides out of the top four places will lose their place in the Irish League is now starting to hit home. Not so good for the clubs but great for the supporters with every game now been played as if it was a cup final.

Here's our review of the last weeks games ...

MOYOLA PARK 2 V RATHFRILAND RGRS 1 - 10/03/26

Moyola Park had to dig deep to see off Rathfriland Rangers in a tight encounter at Mill Meadow. After a quiet first half, Lee McLaughlin finally broke the deadlock just before the hour, and although Stephen McCavitt hit back for the visitors, Moyola had the final say. With time running out, Bobby Deane popped up with a late winner to seal a hard-fought victory.

NEWRY CITY 2 V KNOCKBREDA 1 - 13/03/26

Newry City picked up the points at the Showgrounds with a narrow win over Knockbreda. Darren King got them off to a flying start, but Curtis Giltrap quickly levelled for the visitors. With the game finely poised, Lee Newell proved the difference late on, finishing from close range to secure the win. (Highlights from this game can currently be found on our home page)

PORTSTEWART 4 V BALLYCLARE COMRADES 1 - 14/03/26

Portstewart turned on the style in the second half to power past Ballyclare Comrades. The visitors led early through Michael Leetch, but Jacob Bond levelled before the break and then struck again soon after the restart to swing the game. David McDaid and Dean Brown added further goals to cap a dominant second-half display.

DOLLINGSTOWN 2 V LISBURN DISTILLERY 2 - 14/03/26

Dollingstown showed real character to claw their way back from two goals down and snatch a draw against Lisburn Distillery. The Whites flew out of the traps with goals from David Alfred and Benny Igiehon, but the hosts responded after the break through Matthew Allen. Deep into stoppage time, Jordan Campbell rose highest to head home a dramatic equaliser and rescue a point. (Highlights from this game can currently be found on our home page)

COAGH UNITED 0 V BALLYMACASH RANGERS 1 - 14/03/26

Ballymacash Rangers left it late to get the better of Coagh United at Hagan Park. With little between the sides for most of the game, the breakthrough finally came ten minutes from time when Andy McGrory calmly converted from the spot after a foul in the box to secure all three points.

After the dust had settled from the last batch of games Moyola Park and Newry City now sit 6 points clear at the top of the Premier Intermediate league but there's still plenty of points to play for as the race to remain in the Irish league continues.
